At Creatures, we have a very individual
approach.  We are a small family-owned business with tailored servies.  We are three generations strong.  We take care of your pets because we enjoy it.  We are a family of animal lovers.

 

Louise Emanuel has owned and operated Creatures since 1992.  After the death of her husband (Senator Meyer M. Emanuel Jr.) in 1987, she moved her farm and her family for a new start in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  She has worked in graphic design and is an accomplished entreprenuer.  While in charge at Creatures it has been important to have a role in the community by supporting efforts of the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, Shelter for Help and Emergency and a variety of local schools.

 

Katie Emanuel is the youngest of two daughters.  She grew up on a horse farm in MD, where she was virtually raised by Anatolian Shepherd Dogs.  She had one help her escape from my crib and that dog lived until she entered adulthood.  She has shown and raised dogs for her lifetime.   After college she worked in the field of toxicology until 2005, where she left to help her mother at Creatures and hasn't left.  She met her husband at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and spend all of her free time devoted to animals and her daughter, who has been raised at Creatures and if you come when she is not in school may help you with your pets!

We have a small group of employees that have been with us for over a decade.  They may not remember your name, but will always remember your pet's name.  Our staff loves animals and all facets of animal care.

Every animal has their own personality and their own needs.  This approach is applied to both our boarding and our grooming services.
